Purchased a TP-1B over a month ago. Unit arrived with no connector and as I am just learning CW, I emailed Kent to ask for instructions on how to wire in a jack. I assume it is a mono 3.5mm, but am unsure what colour is what for the sounds, etc.

Away, over a month and my email was never answered. The key sits on my desk unused as I can't wire it without instructions. I will now post reviews on other websites to tell my story. Frustrated and perhaps I won't bother with CW. Guess you have to be an Elmer to use Kent. Thanks Kent.

Hi Joe. Sorry I must have missed your email.

The connections depend on the keyer or radio you are using and you should refer to the equipment manual for the appropriate size, type of connector and how to connect it. It will not be a mono jack plug!!

As a guide if a stereo jack plug is used the tip will be the dot, centre will be the dash and top will be common. See http://www.kent-engineers.com/EK4info.htm

I hope this helps but if you need more information please contact me.

Twin paddle key kit arrived within a week.
Unfortunately there was one faulty part.
It took some time for the replacement part to arrive, but eventually everything worked out fine.

Nice key & thanks

best regards,

I recently received my iambic TP1-B paddle kit. It's a first class product and I'm absolutely delighted with it BUT the wait!

Ordered and paid for PayPal November 2nd yet not posted until December 4th.

Sorry Mr Kent - I am currently about to buy a straight key and would really like to buy your KT1, but will be buying a Begali. You are just too slow ... brilliant product, but oh so slow! You have unfortunately lost this customer.

Hi Mr Kent. On Sept 24, 2013 I ask for missing part of the Straight key kit I reseived from you. We are now on january 2014 and I am sill waiting for them. What can I do with a key with missing parts ?

Robert Kent Sunday, 5 January 2014 03:15
Hello,
The factory is closed till the 14th of January and I don’t have the information to hand. We try and send parts same day or next day so I don’t know what has gone wrong. Can you please remind me of the missing part and your address and I will make sure it is sent to you. I will check my records when we come back.
Regards
Robert Kent.

Does anyone know when the Titanic replica key is going to be released? It's been a few years since I put my name on the list. I'd love to get one!

(230) Got my Twin Paddle kit around 1994/1995. One of the best keys for the price. Like any brass it needs to be cleaned on occasion. I chose to polish mine and this last time put a bigger base on it with urethane feet that will not turn to goo. It is now 3 pounds 12 ounces.

By the way, How long have they been made in Germany ??? Mine was made in Preston England
